Tasting Judería de Sevilla

In spite of the fact that Seville had through its history one of the most important Jewish quarter in all the Iberian Peninsula, it has been almost inexistent the presence of the Sephardic legacy inside the cultural offer of the city until a short time ago. With the endeavor on restoring an important part of the Sevillian history, the Centre of Interpretation “Judería de Sevilla” was founded a month ago, right in the heart of Santa Cruz quarter. It has a permanent exhibition with texts, images, objects and other elements about the Sephardic traces in the city and its culture. But apart from this, the Centre performs a wide activity programm in order to make from the Sephardic or “Jewish-Spanish” heritage acknowledge a pleasant, enjoyable and surprising experience, through tours in the Jewish quarter, historical representations, culinary tastings, Sephardic music concerts, nocturnal tours through the legends of the Jewish quarter, and so on. Taking advantage of an initiave such as the Noche en Blanco, we invite everybody who wants to come and visit the exhibition through a guided tour, besides a tasting of Sephardic sweets and a sweet wine and more surprises for the assistants on the 26th October.

Saboreando la Judería de Sevilla

A pesar de que Sevilla contó a lo largo de su historia con una de la más importantes juderías de toda la Península Ibérica ha sido casi inexistente la presencia del legado sefardí dentro de la oferta cultural de la ciudad hasta hace poco tiempo. Con este empeño en restituir una parte importante de la historia de Sevilla nació hace un mes el Centro de Interpretación Judería de Sevilla, en pleno barrio de Santa Cruz y con una exposición permanente con textos, imágenes, objetos y otros elementos sobre la huella sefardí en la ciudad y en su cultura. Pero además de esto, el Centro cuenta con un amplio programa de actividades para que el conocimiento del patrimonio sefardí o judeoespañol sea ameno, divertido y sorprendente, a través de visitas a la Judería, recreaciones históricas, degustaciones culinarias, conciertos de música sefardí, visitas nocturnas a través de las leyendas de la Judería, etc. Y aprovechando una inciativa como es la Noche en Blanco, invitamos a todo el que quiera acercarse a conocer la exposición a través de una visita guiada a la misma junto a una degustación de dulces sefardíes y un vino dulce, junto a otras sopresas más que conocerán todos los que se acerquen el próximo 26 de octubre.
